OOO Epsylon Technologies develops and deploys powerful cutting
edge solutions for distributed enterprise and distributed users. Its affiliate,
EpsylonVideo Enterprises, Inc (http://Epsylonvideo.com)
exclusively manages the Video on Demand applications of this technology.
ET's family of technologies and devices is based on its unique
and proprietary concept: Object Surface Paradigm ("OSP"). OSP
was the foundation for the development of unique and advantageous technologies
and applications created by Epsylon alone or in cooperation with its affiliates.
According to OSP, the surface of any software device (such as browser
or application) can be expressed through sets of objects, whereby communications
between devices will consist of synchronization of object surfaces on
server and client (versus the current paradigm, where data is sent to
client by server only upon client request).
The fundamental product of Epsylon Technologies is the SuperBEAST
server with TAXXI XML Communicator (http://www.taxxi.com),
which was developed in 1994. Using TAXXI
(which, essentially, is a thin XML client or, simply put, XML browser),
a user can work with a remote server application the same way he works
with his usual local desktop application. Similarly, a developer can create
a remote server application the same way he creates his usual local desktop
application. Using the SuperBEAST
development platform, a programmer uses the usual Delphi/CBuilder components.
A TAXXI server application works on the server side under control of the
SuperBEAST Server and generates an XML-description of the objects on the
server side's GUI and transfers it into the TAXXI Communicator. TAXXI
Communicator displays GUI on the client side according to the received
description. The status of the client's object surface and server's object
surface is synchronized while the user works with the application. The
status of the object surface can be changed by the user or by the server.
These XML-descriptions are transferred into the client's PC via http-protocol.
The elegance and robustness of OSP enabled development of
a whole family of products:
- Krona CPM System (http://krona.epsylontech.com)
is a complex CPM (Corporate Performance Management) system which automates
financial planning, budgeting, management, strategic analysis and
other business intelligence and decision-support functions. Krona
allows managers to take holistic approach in developing and monitoring
the implementation of strategy, through close and fast analysis of
functions and processes in organization and outside of it. Krona is
based on TAXXI, which gives it additional advantages over competing
CPM products, such as: faster implementation time than that of any
competing products, better adoptability to the enterprises processes,
faster communication even over slow lines and more user-friendly interface.
- Videomost Videoconferencing Suite (http://www.videomost.com)
is a complete video conferencing solution, which is based on a proprietary
and superior real-time video compression and scalable delivery mechanisms,
with low bandwidth requirements (1.5 times lower than for competing
products), high security and stable stutter-free conferencing for
meetings, distant learning, remote collaboration, virtual exhibitions
and video broadcasting. The system includes such supporting technologies
and applications as shared presentations, shared Web browser, white
board, chat, etc. to enable scalable multi-directional communications.
- Avatar Videomost Conferencing Suite (http://www.avatar.videomost.com)
is a special edition of VideoMost, which enables multi-directional
communications using customizable animated avatars (moving cartoons),
which speak synchronously (lips, emotions, movements, etc.) with a
person connected to an avatar over the Internet (VideoMost.) AvaMost
includes other typical VideoMost applications and capabilities (such
as shared presentations, shared Web browser, white board and chat)
and can be used for CRM, e-learning, and other applications.
- Panacea (http://panacea.epsylontech.com)
is a centralized document management system for storing and operating
with documents remotely. Based on TAXXI, Panacea enables instant synchronization
and fast reactivity of complex document storages and also makes possible
other document management functions.
- PAO (http://pao.epsylontech.com)
is a remote equipment management and repair system. If a client has
to service complex, remotely located equipment, (especially if its
configuration is varies from one user to another) several complex
tasks need to be accomplished, and several intricate issues need to
be addressed and known: the exact configuration and structure, the
exhaustive list of components, history of exploitation, problems and
modifications, information about component availability and substitute
options, etc. These issues are resolved by PAO.
- SmartSales (http://smartsales.epsylontech.com)
is a sales force automating system supporting CRM and other functions
of over the phone or over the Net sales. Based on TAXXI and with an
optional integration of VideoMost, SmartSales.
- Epsylon Video On Demand System (VOD) - The Epsylon Video
System is a complete VOD solution, which includes codecs, the Epsylon
Video Player, a digital rights management system (DRM), delivery,
billing, reporting, content management and other subsystems. The Epsylon
Video System is based on our proprietary video compression, DRM, delivery
and other technologies and takes advantage of the most advanced distributed
environment, compression and security concepts. Back Office for the
system management is built on TAXXI technology. Our VOD enterprise
is exclusively operated by our affiliate company (Epsylon
Video Enterprises, Inc.). With a focus on the entertainment industry,
Epsylon Video Enterprises, Inc. is managed by a team of experienced
Hollywood professionals, Robert Spiotta, John H. Peters and Gary Drucker.
ET technologies carry numerous competitive
advantages. Some of which include:
- Time, cost and speed savings
- Extremely low requirements to traffic
- Faster, more economical software development, shorter time-to-market
- Very low-level learning barriers for programmers
- High-level security over public or private networks
- Internet-enabling of desktop systems
- High levels of scalability, load balancing and fault tolerance.
